Designer Notes
Design Role: Complete Redesign 1994, 1995, 2006
Co-Designer(s): Bryce Swanson
Rees Jones redesigned the Highlands course in 2006. AAC Golf Course and Grounds Director and Project Manger Ken Mangum worked with Rees Jones, his key staff members Bryce Swanson and Clyde Hall and Kerry Haigh of the PGA, to produce a true championship venue. The course is strategically bunkered with narrow fairways that are ready for the 2011 PGA Championship. It features Diamond Zoysia Fairways and Tifton10 rough. Highlands is the only course in the world with this grassing combination, which produces outstanding playing conditions as well as great definition and contrast.
