Client Course Description

Our Par 71, 6,423 yard scenic Walter Travis course, redesigned by Rees Jones, will test each player’s ability to hit a variety of shots to well-manicured, undulating greens. Whether you’re a beginner, scratch golfer, or just along for the ride, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Green Mountains & the crisp mountain air.

Along with our stunning course, The Golf Club at Equinox offers golf instruction, membership packages and stay-and-play options. Our world-class facility has been named one of the “Top 75 courses in the U.S.” by Golf Digest and ranked in the “Top 3 Golf Courses in Vermont” by Golfweek.

Designer Notes

The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa, an historic property dating to 1769, is situated in a scenic valley of Manchester, VT and framed by the iconic Green Mountains.

In 1992, we completed a comprehensive restoration of all aspects of the resort’s original, Walter Travis design for then owners, Guinness Enterprise Holdings, the parent company of Gleneagles Resort in Scotland.  Our refurbishment greatly enhanced the playability, challenge, conditioning and aesthetic value of this classic New England layout.

In 2018-2019, we began working with new resort ownership to again update and refurbish the course.  We have since completed a variety of bunker renovations, including some size reductions and eliminations, select bunker conversions to greenside chipping areas, as well as multiple drainage improvements, on ten holes.  Course enhancements will continue annually, until all recommendations have been fully implemented.
