Client Course Description

The Legacy course is the perfect running mate to the Founders course. Situated three miles from the Founders Course, the retreat-like setting gives the impression that you have magically stumbled upon a Greystone secret. Carved into the valley of Double Oak Mountain, the Legacy course features placid lakes, rolling hills, and wandering streams that wind throughout the entire course.

Like the Founders Course, the Legacy offers 5 sets of tees for members ensuring a wonderful experience for all levels of golfers. Designed by legendary architect, Rees Jones, members will find this course as challenging as it is playable, leaving them a difficult choice over which course is their favorite. Luckily at Greystone, you don’t have to choose!

Designer Notes

The Legacy Course at Greystone, which flows through a rolling wooded site perfectly suited for golf, is an original Rees Jones design that opened for play in 2000.

In 2021, Rees Jones and Senior Designer Steve Weisser developed a Golf Course Master Plan for the renovation of the Greystone Legacy Course. Construction began in June of 2022 and included the regrassing of green and tee surfaces, drainage improvements and the complete rebuilding of all of the bunkers on the golf course. Every bunker on the golf course has been redesigned to expand the strategy of the golf course while improving playability.  Construction was completed in September of 2022 and the golf course reopened in October of 2022.
