Black Lake Golf Course
Course Type: Semi-Private
Design Role: New Design 2000
Co-Designer(s): Greg Muirhead
Client Course Description
While many courses have two or three so-called signature holes that are worthy of brochure status, every hole at Black Lake Golf Club could easily be on the front cover of a magazine promoting the course. The course is owned by the UAW, who selected one of golf’s most acclaimed course architects, Rees Jones, to design an environmentally responsible, championship caliber course.
Designer Notes
Semi-private design constructed as an amenity of the United Auto Workers, Walter & May Reuther Family Education Center. The layout, framed by mature hardwoods and evergreens, incorporates natual wetlands, native sand pits and several ponds.
