Broken Sound Club (The Old Course)
Course Type: Private
Design Role: Redesign (In Progress)
Co-Designer(s): Bryce Swanson
Client Course Description
Home to the PGA Tour Champions Season Opener for 15 consecutive years (2007-2021), The Old Course at Broken Sound Club is a secluded golf course originally designed by Gene Bates.
Reminiscent of courses in the Pinehurst, North Carolina area, you play the renowned course through a landscape of woods, stone bridges, wildlife, lakes and lagoons. The Northern course style, with its varied elevation and seventy-five bunkers fulfill the needs of even the most diehard golfer. Although it has very small undulations compared to most clubs around, the greens have been voted the best greens on the Champions Tour by officials and players for the past thirteen years.
Designer Notes
We are working with Club representatives to develop a Master Plan for improving the course.
