Montammy Golf Club
Course Type: Private
Design Role: Redesign (In Progress)
Co-Designer(s): Bryce Swanson
Client Course Description
The golf course, completed in 1966, was designed by Frank Duane, a renowned architect who previously had worked with Robert Trent Jones and then Arnold Palmer. Mr. Duane constructed a rolling, tree lined golf course that is picturesque and challenging. The greens are large and receptive with considerable undulation.
The golf course is recognized as a high quality course, built for serious competition. Montammy has been the host of the New Jersey PGA and numerous US Open qualifier tournaments. In 2009, the Club hosted a qualifier for the Met, one of the New York Metropolitan area’s major golf tournaments, and in 2010, was the venue for the US Open qualifier.
Designer Notes
