Quintero Golf Club is a semi-private golf club located northwest of Phoenix, Arizona, approximately an hour from the downtown core.
It is a mountainous desert-style course that is more or less in the middle of nowhere, which makes for a beautiful and quaint setting.
After checking in with their friendly staff, you’ll get off to a unique start by taking a six minute cart ride to the practice area, which is located next to the first tee. The practice area is beautiful, so I recommend getting there early and making the most of it to prepare for the challenge ahead.
The routing is a bit wild, making it virtually impossible to walk. Rees Jones obviously had a plan and sacrificed a bit of practicality to carve some beautiful golf holes into the rugged mountainous landscape.
The course itself is a stern challenge. It can be stretched to 7250 yards from the tips with a course rating of 75.3/148. I played it at 6,875 yards which had a course rating of 73.1/143.
The course offers narrow rolling fairways, dramatic elevation changes, deep bunkering, large and challenging greens, beautiful views of the surrounding terrain for as far as the eye can see, and even some water hazards.

It’s obvious they spared no expense in building the golf course, and spare no expense in keeping it perfectly manicured. The greens rolled great and were very quick. The fairways and tee boxes were lush and nearly immaculate.
They have a grill at the turn where they cook up hot dogs and fresh house-made burgers which was a nice touch after working up an appetite on the front nine.
They have dynamic pricing when you book tee times online, and from what I could tell the prices range from about $120 to $200 depending on time of day. They also have vacation rentals on the property and offer various stay and play packages.
If challenging well designed golf holes, beautiful views and tremendous course conditions are up your alley, then I highly recommend adding Quintero Golf Club to your next Phoenix itinerary.
