Reynolds Lake Oconee (Oconee Course)
Course Type: Resort
Design Role: New Design 2001
Co-Designer(s): Greg Muirhead
Client Course Description
Rees Jones, well known for designing some of the world's most celebrated golf courses, added Reynolds Lake Oconee (Oconee Course) to his growing collection of outstanding golf courses in 2002. This dramatic, challenging and playable layout has captured the attention of the golfing industry, hosting highly-visible tournaments like the 2007 PGA Cup and the 2007 Chick-fil-A Bowl Alma Mater.
Designer Notes
Reynolds Lake Oconee (Oconee Course) is the newest addition to championship golf at Reynolds Plantation. The course was routed to maximize the abundant vegetation and dramatic topography of the site, especially the shoreline of Lake Oconee. A round here culminates on the long par four 18th, which finishes on the water. The course is available for play to members and to the guests of the adjoining Ritz Carlton Hotel.
